North Sydney Olympic Pool Project
OPOC Solutions successfully completed a comprehensive two-year audiovisual transformation at the iconic North Sydney Olympic Pool, installing 206 speakers, 5 AV racks, 4000 meters of specialised cabling, and advanced RF augmented hearing assistance across the entire complex for superior accessibility and sound clarity, now ready for public reopening in early 2026.
The Challenge
The North Sydney Olympic Pool redevelopment required a modern audio solution capable of delivering clear announcements, safety messaging, and event audio across a large and acoustically challenging environment.
Key considerations included:
Wide open outdoor areas and grandstand seating
High levels of ambient noise typical of aquatic venues
Maintaining consistent audio clarity across multiple zones
Ensuring accessibility for all visitors
The Solution
OPOC designed and implemented a distributed audio system tailored to the complex layout of the aquatic centre.
The system included:
A network of over 200 speakers positioned to ensure even audio coverage across the venue
Multiple AV equipment racks to support signal processing and distribution
Over 4 kilometres of specialised cabling to connect systems across the facility
RF-based hearing augmentation technology to support accessibility for visitors requiring assisted listening

The completed system provides the North Sydney Olympic Pool complex with a modern, scalable audio infrastructure that enhances both safety and visitor experience.
